First Grade

  Hi!  I have been teaching for 27 years. I have taught first grade for sixteen years in Comal ISD and I’ve been at Hoffmann Lane for six of those years. I am happy to have  your children in my class this year!

Below is information about first grade routines and procedures that may be helpful to you.

Red/White Folders are sent daily. It contains  office notes, graded papers and a behavior chart on the calendar inside.

Homework folders are sent on Mondays and work should be completed and returned by Friday.

Reading folders are sent two times a week and should be signed and returned when the book is completed.

Library: We visit the library once a week for a lesson or story. The students are allowed to check out 2 books at a time, for a period of two weeks.

Show and Tell: Show and tell items should correspond to the current science/social studies unit of study. A notice may be sent home at the start of each new unit.

Lunch money should be sent in an envelope with your child’s name and sent directly to the cafeteria. It should be placed in the brown wooden box at the cafeteria entrance.
