ELA:  We are finishing a unit on the novel Tangerine, working on grammar, writing, and vocabulary skills.  We are also having some fun with poetry.

 

Pre-A.P. ELA:  We just completed a unit on the Holocaust.  It was a poignant, eye-opening experience for all.  The next big focus is in preparation for ninth grade with lots of SAT vocabulary practice; Greek and Roman prefixes, suffices, and root words word play; practice with answering open-ended questions; and analysis of classic and modern multi-layered poetry and prose.
