Here you will find assignments, notes, worksheets, and various instructions for catching up. The binder is available before and after school, as well as during passing periods. Tardy Policy It is important for you to arrive on time. Tardies are counted per 9 weeks. The tardy policy is as follows: 1st & 2nd tardies- warnings 3rd tardy – Parent contacted and Detention assigned 4th tardy-office referral Late work It is important for you to do your work in a timely manner. All assignments are to be turned in by 4:00 the day the assignment is due. If the assignment is turned in by 8:00 am the next school day, 80% of the grade is given for the assignment. The assignment is worth 60% of the grade if turned in by 8:00 the second day. No assignments are accepted after two days late. These assignments are due at the beginning of class unless otherwise specified. Late work due to absences: I will follow the school policy regarding extensions due to absences. If an assignment is due the day you are absent, it is to be turned in the day you return to campus. If you are on campus and leave mid-day, your assignments are still due. If you are absent the day a project or essay is due: Do your best to send an email or message by a friend to let me know. Turn in the assignment when you return. Remember if you are on campus, the assignment is due that day. Refer to the district’s guidelines for more information. Extra Credit Extra Credit is simply that…extra. I will offer extra credit occasionally. You should not rely on extra credit to “save” you. Earn your credit, then worry about extra credit. Grading Your average comes from two types of grades, test and daily. The tests are worth 60% and the daily is 40%. Test grades come from major projects, essays, and tests. Daily grades are made up of participation grades, in class assignments, homework assignments, progress grades, and check grades. Check grades are small assignments that receive a Check, check + or -, or no check. Four of these assignments equal a check grade (each check is worth 25 pts). Daily Oral Grammar, Lesson Leads, Board work: Often I will have something on the board for you to work on. I will grade these periodically by checking the assignment from a certain date. You must keep up with this work in your spiral, binder, or folder. If you are absent, check with a classmate for the board work. |
