Welcome ! I am so thrilled to be teaching Technology Applications / Keyboarding! I really believe that computing and technology are vital to education in today’s society. Just as all of my students are new to SVMS, so am I. Over the summer, my family moved from Midland, TX so that our children would have access to a fine educational system. It also allowed us the opportunity to work at great schools (my husband teaches at SVHS)! I have eight years experience teaching computer science and technology application classes. I received a bachelor’s degree from UT’s business school in Management Information Systems and I just recently earned a master’s degree in Management Information Technology. In basic terms, both of these degrees encompass computing and technology (isn’t it funny how higher education creates complex descriptions)! An important goal of this class is to provide EVERY STUDENT an EQUAL OPPORTUNITY to develop keyboarding skills and improve upon their computing abilities. Students will have opportunities for in-depth training, independent projects, and access to computer technology including the Internet. Due to the constant change of technology, the only textbook we will use is a classroom set of keyboarding books. All other information will be provided in the form of handouts. This allows students to receive current information on the technology being used today. |
